Hannemann transition team now taking applications
The new transition team named by Honolulu Mayor-elect
Mufi Hannemann begins accepting applications this week
for
positions in the coming city administration.
Want ads will run in newspapers this week, but Hannemann
issued a weekend news release inviting interested parties
to send
applications, including cover letter and résumé,
to:
Hannemann Transition Office
City Hall Annex
550 S. King St., 2nd floor
Honolulu, HI 96813
Applications must be postmarked by Nov. 26.
Hannemann announced over the weekend that the co-chairmen
of his transition team are Andy Anderson, a developer
and
former city manager, and Christine Camp Friedman, a developer
and chairwoman of The Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii.
"One of the primary responsibilities of the transition
team is to oversee the selection process of the mayor's
cabinet and key
staff," spokeswomen Elisa Yadao and Laura Pennington
said in a statement. "Five search committees will
be formed and each
committee will be assigned three to four city departments.
the committees will screen applications, interview finalists
and
submit recommendations of the top three candidates to
Mayor-elect Hannemann for his consideration."
The committees will be led by Paul Yonamine, the executive
vice president for Asia-Pacific of BearingPoint; Joe
Pickard, president of Environet Inc.; Alexander & Baldwin
Vice President Meredith Ching; Liz Ho, area field services
director for
AFSCME, the American Federation of State, County & Municipal
Employees; and Marc Tilker, president of Marathon Group
LLC.
